Obituary of Alta E. Doling

Monica – Alta E. Doling, 71, of Monica, died at 11:30 pm Sunday, May 13, 2007, at her residence.

Alta was born on July 31, 1935 in rural Dunlap, Illinois, the daughter of Ben Bradley and Rose Bell Widger Simpson, she married John Doling on July 31, 1970, in Benton County, Arkansas.  He survives.

Also surviving are one son, William David Tucker of Ligioneer, IN; three step-sons, Matt (and Linda) Doling of Princeville, IL, Mark (and Stephanie) Doling of Thorton, CO, and James Robert Doling of Phoenix, AZ; one daughter, Carol Jean Diefendorf of Farmington, IL; one step-daughter, Becky (and Richard) Delis of Englewood, CO; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Bob (and Janice) Simpson of Eureka, IL, Ben Jr. (and Mert) Simpson of Wataga, IL, Paul (and Sandy) Simpson of Kenton, TN, and Herb (and Loraine) Simpson of Oak Hill, IL; three sisters, Lila Catton of Sterling, IL, Lela Snider and Dolores Senders both of Monica, IL; and several nieces and nephews.  Her parents, three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

She was a caregiver for her whole family.  She was a member of the Monica United Methodist Church, Monica.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Thursday, May 17, 2007, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville.  Rev. Marc Brown will officiate.  Visitation will be two hours prior to funeral service.  Entombment will be in Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Parkview Cemetery, Peoria.
