Obituary of Theodore "Ted" R. Draper
Edelstein – Theodore “Ted” R. Draper, 74, of rural Edelstein, died at 7:50 pm
Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at Proctor Hospital, Peoria.
Theodore was born on September 20, 1932, in LaRose, Illinois, the son of Orville E. and Edna Krutz Draper, he married Maribel A. Dunlap on September 1, 1956, in Dunlap, Illinois. She survives.
Also surviving are five sons, Dennis (and Delaine) Draper of Peoria, Dan (and Traci) Draper of Chillicothe, Ron Draper of Princeville, Joe Draper of Peoria, and Jim (and Lisa) Draper of Lenexa, KS; two daughters, Diane (and John) Reid of Edelstein, and Jeanne McMullen of Yates City; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one brother-in-law, Paul Blottin of Marble Falls, TX. His parents and one sister, Norma Jean Blottin, preceded him in death.
He was a Korean War Navy veteran. He owned the Western Auto Store in Dunlap from 1979 until 1991 and also worked at International Paper Company for 30 years as a lead man in maintenance, retiring in 1994.
He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Peoria, where funeral mass will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, April 14, 2007. Father Bruce Lopez will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, April 13, 2007, at the church, with recitation of rosary to follow. Burial will be in St. Clement’s Cemetery, rural Dunlap.
