Obituary of Mildred I. Frazelle

Peoria – Mildred I. Frazelle, 97, of Peoria, IL, formerly of Monmouth, Decatur, IL, and Tucson, AZ, died at 12:30 am Friday, March 30, 2007, at Apostolic Christian Skylines, Peoria, where she was a resident.

Mildred was born on June 16, 1909, in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of August and Ida Carlson Larson, she married Herbert R. Frazelle on November 14, 1929, in Monmouth.  He died July 9, 1982, in Tucson, AZ.

Surviving is one son, James (and Connie) Frazelle of Peoria, IL; two daughters, Joan (and Ray) Herget of Peoria, IL, and Judith (and Jim) Gandy of Decatur, IL; fourteen grandchildren; thirty one great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.  Her parents, one daughter, Norma Jean Schisler, three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Mildred was a 1927 graduate of Monmouth High School.  She worked at LeTourneau as a machine operator during World War II and then she worked as a secretary for Williams Inc, the local Philco dealer in Peoria.  She later was a secretary for Kemper Insurance in Decatur from 1956 until retiring in 1969, when she and her husband moved to Tucson, AZ.  She was a member of Forrest Hill United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at Star of Hope Chapel at Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, Illinois.  Rev. Charliam Renner will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:00 pm Monday, at The Wilton Mortuary, Peoria.
