Obituary of Jean E. Kuhn

Dunlap – Jean E. Kuhn, 87, of Dunlap, formerly of Edelstein, died at 1:50 am Saturday, October 6, 2007, at Perry Memorial Hospital, Princeton.

Jean was born May 2, 1920, in Princeville, Illinois, the daughter of Roby T. and May E. Ralph Simmons, she married G. Howard Kuhn on February 16, 1941, in Princeville.  He died January 8, 1985, in Fort Myers, FL.

Surviving are one daughter, Sharon (and Paul) DeWeerth of Henry, IL; two grandchildren, Dawn (and Chuck) Graves of Edelstein, IL, and Eric DeWeerth of Henry, IL; two great-grandchildren, Colton Braun and Makayla Braun both of Edelstein, IL; and one nephew, Edwin (and Donna Jean) Bates of Phoenixville, PA.  Her parents, one sister and one brother preceded her in death.

Jean worked as a postal clerk for 32 years at the Princeville Post Office, and she also helped her husband farm in the Edelstein area for many years. 

She was a member of the Edelstein Congregational UCC Church where funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, October 9, 2007.  Rev. David Stammerjohn will officiate.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7:00 pm Monday, October 8, 2007, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville, and one hour prior to funeral service at the church on Tuesday.  Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, Dunlap.
