Obituary of Elaine D. Morrison

Chillicothe – Elaine D. Morrison, 86, of Chillicothe, died at 6:15 am Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Heritage Manor, where she had been a patient since April 6th.

Born November 16, 1920, in Princeton, IL, the daughter of Clay and Edna Sayles Edwards, she married George R. Morrison on September 15, 1951, in Princeton.  He died on January 18, 1991, in Chillicothe.  Also preceding her in death were six brothers.

Surviving  is one daughter, Kate “LorRel” (and Mark) Tebo, with whom she made her home; one granddaughter, Tisha Tebo of Elgin, IL; two sisters, Dorothy (and George) Dall of Princeton and Gail (and Leo) Sabin of Mesa, AZ; and a sister-in-law, Mary Hoeller of Rock Falls, IL.

During WWII, Elaine worked for the ordinance plant at Amboy, IL.  She later worked for Bassick’s in Spring Valley, then babysat and cleaned homes for people in the area.  She was a respected authority in dog obedience training and was a member of the Peoria Obedience Training Club, Heartland Dog Club, Illinois Valley Dog Club, and the Shetland Sheepdog Club.  Elaine was also an accomplished roller-skater, winning many awards in dance and figures in her younger years.  She was a member of the Roller-skating Rink Operators Association Skating Club.  She was a member of the former Epiphany Lutheran Church, Dunlap.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home.  Rev. Dr. Bruce Dobyns will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7:00 pm Monday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Sand Prairie Cemetery, rural Green Valley, IL.
