Obituary of Samuel MacArthur Pierce

Princeville – Samuel MacArthur Pierce, 63, a life-long Princeville resident, died at 5:35 am Monday, March 19, 2007, at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria, where he had been a patient since February 27th.

He was born March 26, 1943, in Princeville, the son of Howard William and Amanda Talbot Pierce.

Surviving are two brothers, Thomas Pierce of Peoria, and Howard William “Bill” (and Joyce) Pierce, Jr  of Winfield, IL; and two sisters, Donna Wills of Flippin, AR, and Mary Ann Parris of Salem, MO.  He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

He worked for several years for the Princeville Canning Company.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home.  Rev. Harry Losey will officiate.  Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.  Cremation will be accorded following the service and burial of ashes will be in Princeville Cemetery at a later date.
