Obituary of Kenneth W. Riley

Princeville – Kenneth W. Riley, 87, of Princeville, died at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2007, at Proctor Hospital, Peoria.

He was born September 26, 1919, in Perry, Illinois, the son of William and Sarah Franklin Riley.  He married Marian Sniff on April 8, 1945, in Princeville.  She died on October 30, 1997.  Also preceding him in death was one daughter, Judy Ann, and four sisters.

Surviving is one daughter, Elizabeth (and John) Wieland, and one son, Ken Riley, II, both of Princeville; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Kenny and his wife operated the Riley’s Cash & Carry Market for 37 years, retiring in 1985.  He also worked as a self-employed painter for man years.  He was a member of the Princeville United Methodist Church and also attended the Princeville Apostolic Christian Church.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, January 27, 2007, at the Princeville Apostolic Christian Church.  Ministers of the church will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 8:00 pm Friday, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, and also from 9 to 9:45 am Saturday at the church.  Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens, Peoria. 

Memorial contributions may be made to either church, Apostolic Christian Timber Ridge, Morton, or to Apostolic Christian Skylines, Inc, Peoria.
