Obituary of Richard Joseph Schaub

Kickapoo – Richard Joseph Schaub, 69, of Kickapoo, passed away at 5:35 a.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at his home.

He was born March 20, 1937, in Kickapoo, the son of Fred and Margaret Kinsella Schaub.  He married Nancy Noonen on October 11, 1958, in Princeville.  She survives, along with two daughters, Mary Beth (and David) Kraft of Morton, and Jeanne (and Andrew) Almasi of Elmwood; two sons, Tony (and Tina) Schaub of Brimfield, and Chris (and Jill) Schaub of Kickapoo; four sisters, Liz (and Mose) Gilles of Brimfield, Louise (and Carl) Hasselbacher of Peoria, Margaret (and Carl) Mangold of Buda, and Alice (and Mike) Bergevin of Trivoli; six brothers, Fred (and Terry) Schaub of Germantown Hills, William (and Jean) Schaub of San Antonio, TX, George (and Rosemary) Schaub of Peoria, Robert of Kickapoo, Leo (and Nancy) Schaub of Kickapoo, and Tony Schaub of Brimfield; and eleven grandchildren, Joseph, Rhiannon, Bethany, Kory, Brandon, Madie, Matthew, Thomas, Kyle, Kylie, and Alexandria.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Richard was a 1955 graduate of Spaulding Institute, Peoria. He worked as a carpenter for Local 183 for 45 years before retiring in 1997.  He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Kickapoo.

Funeral mass will be at 10:00 am Friday, January 12, 2007, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  Visitation will be from 5 to 8:00 pm Thursday at St. Mary’s Parish Hall, with recitation of the Rosary at 8:00 pm.  Further visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Friday.   Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Kickapoo.

Memorial contributions may be made to his church or to the Peoria Parkinson’s Disease Foundation.
