Obituary of Alvina R. Streitmatter

Wyoming – Alvina R. Streitmatter, 90, formerly of rural Wyoming, died 12:55 pm Thursday, November 15, 2007, at Apostolic Christian Skylines, Peoria, where she was a resident for the past 3 ½ years.

Alvina was born December 18, 1916, in Lester, Iowa, the daughter of Samuel H. and Emma Nester Grimm, she married Ben Streitmatter on February 14, 1937, in Peoria.  He died March 29, 1977, in Toulon.

Surviving are two sons, Verle (and Patricia) of Toulon, and Barry (and Margaret) of rural Wyoming; one daughter, Benola (and Henry) Bowdoin of rural Wyoming; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one brother, Earl (and Anna Lou) Grimm of Dunlap.  Her parents, four brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.

She helped her husband farm in the Wyoming and Princeville areas for many years.  She was a member of Apostolic Christian Church, Princeville.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, November 17, 2007, at Apostolic Christian Church, Princeville.  Ministers of the Church will officiate.  Visitation will be two hours prior to the funeral at the church.  Burial will be in Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery, Princeville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Apostolic Christian Skylines, Inc. or Akron/Princeville Ambulance Service.
