Obituary of Mildred I. Wolland

Dunlap – Mildred I. “Millie” Wolland, 83 of Dunlap, passed away at 8:41 pm Thursday, July 26, 2007, at Manor Court, Peoria.

She was born October 11, 1923, in Modena, Illinois, the daughter of James and Clara M. Roberts Scott.  She first married James Traphagan, she later married Russell A. Wolland on August 6, 1968, in Wyoming, IL.  He died May 30, 2007. 

Surviving are one daughter, Carol Norman of Princeville, IL; one son, Wayne (and Zola) Traphagan of Dahinda, IL; two stepdaughters, Diane (and Dennis) Vohland of Dunlap, IL, and Deborah Wolland of Virginia; two stepsons, James (and Charlotte) Wolland of Washington State, and Jerald (and Roxy) Wolland of Edwards, IL; six grandchildren; sixteen step-grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; fourteen step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Helen Baer of Wyoming, IL.  Her parents, one son, James “Hogan” Traphagan, three sisters and five brothers preceded her in death.

Millie worked various jobs in Peoria and the surrounding areas.  Later she and her husband, Russell, owned and operated two taverns in Dunlap.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday, July 30, 2007, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville.  Rev. Rex Hendrix will officiate.  Visitation will be two hours prior to funeral service on Monday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens, Peoria.
