Obituary of Joanne M. Cowling

Princeville – Joanne M. Cowling, 74, of Princeville, died at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at her daughter’s residence in Princeville.

Joanne was born September 5, 1933, in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Morton and Viola Key Jackson.  She married Fred W. Cowling on February 3, 1952, in Chillicothe, Illinois.  He died May 23, 2004, in Danville, Illinois.

Surviving are two daughters, Joanne (and Mike) Dickerson of Princeville, IL, and Viola (and Glenn) Krause of Mason City, IL; two sons, Rodney Cowling of Crawfordsville, IN, and Freddie (and Jean) Cowling of Delavan, IL; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.  Her parents, two sisters and one brother preceded her in death.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 4, 2008, at Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island.  Rev. Fred Reiner will officiate.  Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2008, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville.
