Obituary of Virginia E. King

Chillicothe – Virginia E. King, 90, of Chillicothe, formerly of the Wyoming & Princeville areas, died at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at Heritage Manor in Chillicothe.

Virginia was born April 12, 1918, in Princeville, the daughter of Henry and Nellie R. Streitmatter Woertz.  She married Harry W. King on September 29, 1941, in Kahoka, MO.  He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Sandra Kay King of Chillicothe, IL; one son, Larry R. (and Marla) Woertz of Altona, IL; nine grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.  Her parents preceded her in death.

She and her husband farmed in the Toulon and Princeville areas until retiring in 1988.  In 1967 she was Past Noble Grand of Toulon Rebekah Lodge #117. In 1996, Virginia became a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Princeville, at the age of 78.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 15, 2008, at her church.  Ministers of the Church will officiate.  Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2008, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville, and from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. on Friday at the church.  Burial will be in Streitmatter Cemetery, rural Princeville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Apostolic Christian Skylines, or Rescue 33 in Chillicothe.
