Obituary of John Koller Jr.

John was born in Chillicothe, Illinois, on March 28, 1943, the son of John and Mabel Logan Koller. He married Nancy Schindler in Chicago, IL, on December 31, 1975. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Lt. Col. Joseph (and Sana) Koller who is with the U.S. Army stationed in Korea, and Jason (and Rhonda) Koller of Washington, IL; one step-daughter, Brenda Curry of Clearwater, FL; three granddaughters, Marissa Koller, Allison Koller, & Erica Koller; three grandsons, Christopher Long, Hunter Koller, & Zachary Koller; three brothers, Everett “Gene” Koller of Princeville, Chuck (and Kathy) Koller of Brimfield, and Jim Koller of Princeville; and one sister, Donna (and Steve) Sutherland of Spring Bay. His parents and one sister, Rose Prouty preceded him in death.
John was a 1961 graduate of Princeville High School and he served with the United States Army and the Army Reserves. He started work as a truck driver with Dohrn Transfer Company, Peoria. He later worked for Long Rock Company in Princeville, and last worked for N.E. Finch Company for 17 years before retiring in 2002. John also worked part time for Arrowhead County Club, Chillicothe. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 627 in Peoria, and a member of the Local Retirees Club. John was an avid golfer.
Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2008, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Pastor Cheri Grizzard will officiate. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service. Cremation will follow.
