Obituary of Walter L. Lessley

Princeville – Walter L. Lessley, 68, of Princeville, formerly of Millersville, MO, died at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Heritage Manor, Chillicothe.

Walter was born September 15, 1939, in Delta, Missouri, the son of Dale and Ruby Allen Lessley, he married Glenda Austin on August 30, 1970, in Jackson, Missouri, and they later divorced.

Surviving is one step-daughter, Sue (and Keith) Masters of Pawnee, IL, one step-son, Joe (and Teresa) Austin of Ft. Meyers, FL; three step grandchildren; one step great-grandson; several cousins; and a special friend, Thella Begner and her children of Princeville.

Walter served in the United States Army.  Prior to moving to Princeville in 1971, he worked as a mechanic at Hanners Brothers in Patton, MO.  While living in Princeville, he worked as a machinist for Givens Machine Shop, retiring in 2006. Recently he had worked for Casey Doubet Machine Shop in Williamsfield.

Local visitation will be held from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2008, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville.  Further visitation will be held from noon until 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2008, at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home, Jackson, Missouri, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery, Jackson, MO.
