Obituary of Alan E. Meservey

Princeville – Alan E. Meservey, 55, of Princeville, died at 6:07 am Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Proctor Hospital, where he had been a patient for three weeks.

Alan was born July 3, 1952, in Peoria, the son of Donald G. & Jennie M. Stichling Meservey.  He married Teresa Miars on August 1, 1988.  Teresa survives, along with a sister, Lorraine (and Dane) Bergquist of Surprise, AZ; nine nieces, five nephews, and 13 great nieces and nephews.  His parents preceded him in death.

He worked in maintenance and security for Buehler Home, Peoria, for the past four years.  Previously he worked for Alcoa in Princeville and Caterpillar, Inc.   Alan was a kind and loving husband, brother, uncle, and friend.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and NASCAR.  He always had a smile and a kind word.  He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.

Cremation will be accorded.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, with a Memorial Service at 8:00 p.m.  Proctor Hospital Chaplain Barbara LaHood will officiate.  A private family graveside will held at Princeville Cemetery at a later date.
