Obituary of Steven Brent Parrott Monica – Steven Brent Parrott, 56, of Monica, passed away at 8:20 p.m. Saturday, December 20, 2008, at the Apostolic Steve was born May 4, 1952, in Kewanee, the son of William Robert and Bessie Frances Thompson Parrott. He married Deborah Lynn King on July 10, 1970, at the Monica United Methodist Church. Debbie survives, along with twin sons, Steve R. (and Katie) Parrott of Lincoln, IL, and Stan R. (and Jennifer) Parrott of Chillicothe; six grandchildren, Victoria, Stephanie, & Elizabeth Parrott, and Olivia, Madelynn, & Silas Parrott; one brother, William R. “Bill” (and Linda) Parrott of Toulon; and one sister, Frances “Fran” Hackwith of Toulon. He was preceded in death by both parents, one brother, Ronald, one sister, Virginia, and an infant sister, Linda. Steve was a 1970 graduate of Princeville High School. He graduated from the Tool Maker Trade Apprenticeship through Caterpillar, Inc, and was a 1995 graduate of ICC with an Associates Degree in Applied Sciences. He worked for Caterpillar for 30 years, retiring in 2002. Steve enjoyed bowling, vacationing, and following his sons’ sports activities, serving as a little league coach and commissioner. He was a New York Yankees, Boston Celtics, and Indianapolis Colts fan. He was a member of Princeville Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home. Pastor Lee Taylor will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Toulon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Princeville Baptist Church.
