Obituary of Veldalou V. Renken

Monica – Veldalou V. Renken, 77, of Monica, died at 7:54 am Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria.

She was born November 2, 1930, at Long Point, IL, the daughter of Thomas Archie & Thelma Burris Bost.  Veldalou married Victor A. Renken on April 16, 1949, in Dana, IL.  He preceded her in death on July 18, 2004, in Monica.  Also preceding her in death was her parents, one son, Thomas Renken, and one daughter, Christine Walter.

Surviving are five sons, Michael (and April) of Streator, Robert of Monica, Scott (and Lori) of Spring Valley, Keith (and Susan) of Deer Creek, and Brian (and Virginia) of Springfield; 15 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Freida Craig of Wenona, IL.

Veldalou was a member of the Monica United Methodist Church where services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 25, 2008.  Rev. Marc Brown will officiate.  Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of services.  Burial will be at 2:30 pm Saturday, in the Minonk Township Township Cemetery, Minonk, IL.
