Obituary of Ellen L. Richoz

Princeville – Ellen L. Richoz, 92, a resident of Riverview Retirement Community, East Peoria, formerly of Princeville, died at 8:40 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2008, at Proctor Hospital, Peoria.

Ellen was born February 19, 1916, in LaPrairie Township, Marshall County, Illinois, the daughter of Roy Wesley and Lilla Henrietta Crady Foster.  She married Floyd John Taylor on October 28, 1941, in Princeville.  He died December 22, 1944, in Italy, while serving in World War II. She then married Charles F. Richoz on November 13, 1956, in Princeville.  He died May 26, 1994, in Princeville.  Also preceding her in death were her parents, one brother, two sisters, two step-sons, and one step-daughter.

Surviving is one son, Ben (and Jackie) Taylor of Chillicothe; one daughter, Nancy Hall of Peoria; two granddaughters, Wendi Weith of Seattle, WA, and Kelsey Hall of Downers Grove, IL; one grandson, John (and Melissa) Taylor of Kansas City, KS; foster-granddaughter, Darlene (and Sean) Coleman of Granville, IL; eleven step-grandchildren, Angela Hall of Bloomington, IL, Jennifer Konczyk of Lincoln, IL, Julia Hall of Peoria, David Richoz of MN, Michelle Ekleberry & Jacque Neal, both of CO, Andrea Williams of MO, Debbie Meyers of FL, Diane Barclay of NY, and Donna Harber & Deidre Petrillo of MI; several great-grandchildren; and two daughter-in-laws, Judy Richoz of Denver, Co, and Mary Lou Doubat of Detroit, MI.

Ellen was a member of the Princeville Garden Club and the Princeville Eastern Star. 

She also was a member of the Princeville United Methodist Church, where funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 24, 2008.  Pastor Rex Hendrix will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 23, 2008, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville.  Burial will be in Princeville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church or Akron/Princeville Ambulance Service.
