Obituary of Dorcas Jurretta Smith Princeville—Dorcas Jurretta Smith, 84, of Peoria, formerly of Farmer City, died at 1:00 a.m. Sunday, November 2, at Methodist Medical She was born December 14, 1923, the daughter of Ralph Curphy and Minnie Irene Bernice Stubblefield Gelling. She married Milton J. Smith on September 2, 1945, at the Gelling Farm in Monica. She is survived by her husband; one son, Milton Curphy (Kathryn) Smith of Princeville; four daughters, Bonnie Lee (Ron) Riffey of Talking Rock, GA, Jurretta Sue (Glenn) Huffman of Princeville. Kimberly Rae (Douglas) Phillips of Danville, IN, and Bernice Irene (Banyong) Bunyarattaphantu of Blue Springs, MO; one sister, Gwendolyn Fusco of Princevillle; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Heather Smith. Dorcas worked during World War II at the Ammunitions Depot in Dixon. She later worked as a waitress at the Hen House in Farmer City and for 11 years as produce manager at the Farmer City IGA. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Farmer City. Dorcas and Milton delivered Peace Meals through the Farmer City Senior Citizens Center. She was a past member of the Woodlawn Country Club in Farmer City. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home. Rev. Rex Hendrix will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2008, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home. Burial will be in Princeville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Susan G.
