Obituary of Edwin A. "Arlie" Snyder

Dunlap – Edwin A. “Arlie” Snyder, 85, of Peoria, formerly of Dunlap, died at 10:05 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at his residence.

Arlie was born October 23, 1922, in Speer, the son of Edwin H. & Grace C. Bush Snyder.  His parents preceded him in death, along with a brother, Robert Snyder, and a nephew, Randy Snyder.

Surviving is a sister-in-law, Mary Snyder of rural Dunlap; two nephews, Donald C. (and Diane) Snyder of Mackinaw and William A. (and Cynthia) Snyder of Dunlap; three nieces, E. Marlene Snyder and Marikay L. (and William) Ross, both of Dunlap, and Brenda M. (and Charles) Matthews of Chicago.

Arlie was a WWII US Army veteran, and worked as an inspector for Caterpillar for 32 years before retiring.  He was a member of St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Peoria.

Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 19, 2008, at St Jude Catholic Church, Dunlap.  Rev. Father Tony Lee will officiate.  Visitation will be a half hour prior to the Mass.  Burial will be in Princeville Cemetery.
