Obituary of Lois O. Spurgeon

Princeville – Lois O. Spurgeon, 92, of rural Princeville, died on Sunday August 17, 2008, at Proctor Hospital, Peoria.

Lois was born October 8, 1915, in Stronghurst, IL, to Joseph and Florence Dowell Wilcox.  She married James S. Spurgeon on August 13, 1937, in Fort Madison, Iowa.  Her husband, six brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Surviving are her son, James Michael (and Judy) Spurgeon of Princeville; two daughters, Vickie (and Robert) Wahlbrink of Athens, IL, and Julie (and Doug) Janssen of Ft. Meyers, FL; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Lois was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Princeville.  She was a beloved mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 30, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Princeville.  Memorial gifts may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Princeville.
