Obituary of Maxine C. Tucker

Princeville – Maxine C. Tucker, 85, of Peoria, formerly of Princeville, died at 4:41 a.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at Rosewood Care Center of Peoria.

Maxine was born May 15, 1923, in Rosefield Township, Peoria County, Illinois, the daughter of William and Flora Miller Searle.  She married Raymond F. Tucker on March 2, 1952, in Peoria.  He died December 21, 2004, in Peoria.

Surviving is one daughter, Flora Jean (and Robert) Burns of Amarillo, TX; and many nieces and nephews.  Her parents, two brothers, William Searle and Rolen Searle, preceded her in death.

She was a bookkeeper for Producer’s Dairy and Rozelle’s Dairy in Peoria.  After marriage to Raymond she became a farm wife.  She was a member of the Peoria County Home Extension and was active in local women’s clubs. 

She attended Princeville United Methodist Church and sang in the choir.  She most recently attended United Presbyterian Church, Peoria.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2008, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville.  Rev. Robert Burns, her son-in-law, will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2008, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, Dunlap.

Memorial contributions may be made to Amarillo Bible Church, 1300 SW 15th Avenue, Amarillo, TX  79102.
