Obituary of Grace Wooden

Princeville – Grace Wooden, 78, of Princeville, died at 8:36 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria.

Grace was born on March 1, 1930, in Ottawa, Ohio, the daughter of Clinton and Amanda Osborne Lighthill.  She married Thomas C. Wooden on November 22, 1952, in Angola, IN.  He survives.

Also surviving is one son, Thomas C. (and Kristy) Wooden of Dunlap; two daughters, Cheryl (and Paul) Ehnle of Kewanee, and Terrie Patterson of Princeville; five grandchildren, Chip (and Cheryl) Wooden, Cory Wooden, Ryne Wooden, Robert Ehnle, & Katherine Ehnle; and two great-grandsonx, Paxson & Kaden Wooden.  Her parents, one grandson, Brent Patterson in 1998, and one brother, Joseph Lighthill, preceded her in death.

Grace was the assistant manager for Gary’s Red Fox Supermarket for 25 years working in the meat and produce departments as well as a cashier.  She was a member of Princeville United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2008, at Princeville United Methodist Church.  Rev. Rex Hendrix will officiate.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Princeville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church, Akron/Princeville Ambulance Service, or Akron/Princeville Fire Department.
