Obituary of Betty L. Archer

Princeville – Betty L. Archer, 83, of Princeville, died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2009, at her residence.

Betty was born January 2, 1926, in Peoria County, Illinois, the daughter of Albert and Rhoda Moran Mitchell.  She married Richard “Dick” Archer on June 26, 1947, in Peoria.  He died March 5, 2008, in Peoria.

Surviving are one daughter, Ruth (and Lee) Schelkopf of Brimfield; two grandsons, Sean (and Rebecca) Schelkopf of Morton, and Eric Schelkopf of Kewanee; one great-granddaughter, Tess Schelkopf; three sisters, Darlene Oertley of rural Princeville, Margaret Mitchell of Princeville, and Alberta (and Bill) Murphy of Peoria; and many nieces and nephews.  Her parents and nine brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Betty was a bookkeeper for several implement dealers until retiring.  She also was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Princeville.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home.  Pastor Nollan Harwood will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral service.  Burial will be in Princeville Cemetery.
