Obituary of Patrick J. Clougherty Chillicothe – Patrick J. Clougherty, 70, of Chillicothe, formerly of Princeville, died at 7:50 a.m. Monday, February 16, Patrick was born January 24, 1939, in Boston, MA, the son of Patrick J. and Catherine Canavaugn Clougherty. He married Vickie Sue Adams, his high school sweetheart, on November 16, 1958, in Princeville. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Collin (and Hallie) Clougherty of Dunlap, and Cory (and Jodi) Clougherty of Chillicothe; one granddaughter, Ashley Clougherty also of Chillicothe; one brother-in-law, Scott (and Barb) Adams of Normal; and three nieces, Stephanie, Mollie, and Lindsey Adams. His parents preceded him in death. Patrick graduated from Princeville High School and he attended Eureka College on a football scholarship. He graduated from Bradley University with a bachelor’s degree in business. He worked at H.C. Products (Alcoa Building Products) as a purchasing agent in Princeville and then was promoted to corporate purchasing in Sidney, OH. He retired from Alcoa in 1990 and moved to Chillicothe. He then worked as a purchasing manager for Altorfer Caterpillar. Patrick was an active member in the Princeville Lions Club. He loved sports. He was active coaching little league baseball and enjoyed one undefeated season. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. These are just a few of the things he loved in life, but most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends. He most recently attended St. Edward Catholic Church. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 19, 2009, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Rev. Rex Hendrix will officiate. Visitation will be two hours prior to funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Princeville Cemetery.
