Obituary of Clarence H. "Bud" Deever

Hanna City – Clarence H. “Bud” Deever, Jr., 74 of Kuttawa, KY, formerly of Hanna City, IL, died at 1:55 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009, at Rivers Bend Retirement Community in Kuttawa, KY.

Clarence was born May 22, 1935, in Peoria, Illinois, the son of Clarence Herbert Sr., and Rebecca Holmes Deever.  He married Wilma L. Simpson on December 30, 1961, in Galesburg.  She died September 14, 1995, in Peoria.  Also preceding him in death is his parents.

Surviving are two sons, Steve (and Priscilla) Simpson of Kewanee, and Daniel (and Barbara) Howell of Milford, IN; two daughters, Mary Butterfield of Ligonier, IN, and Patricia (and Cleatus) Cooper of Jackson, TN; one brother, Allen Deever of Pekin; 8 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Clarence was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 649 for 45 years.  He also resided at Iron Hill in Kuttawa, KY, for the last 14 years.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville.  Rev. Marc Brown will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
