Obituary of George W. Hollenbaugh Washington – George W. Hollenbaugh, 79, of Washington, formerly of Lebanon, PA and Falls Church, VA, died at 11:11 George was born July 14, 1930, in Lancaster, PA, the son of George S. & Beulah M. Kurtz Hollenbaugh. He married Donna Lee Hamilton on June 19, 1955. She survives, along with a daughter, Laura L. (and Jim) Cotner of Washington; a son, Terry N. Hollenbaugh of LaFollette, TN; three grandchildren, Sarah, Heather, & Grant Cotner; and a brother, Ronald R. (and Shirley) Hollenbaugh of Longwood, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents. George served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 to 1952 and was trained in climatological studies. He graduated from West Virginia University and worked for NOAA – National Weather Service in Washington, DC, as a Computer Systems Analyst, retiring January 3, 1987. He was a member of American Legion Post 915, Fredricksburg, PA, and a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lebanon, PA. He was also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. There will be a private family service on Tuesday, August 18. Services and burial will take place in Pennsylvania at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, Multiple Sclerosis Society, or the American Legion.
