Obituary of Julius D. Lauber Princeville - Julius D. Lauber, 85, of Princeville, died at 4:14 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2009, in the emergency Julius was born March 13, 1923, in Alta, Illinois, the son of Emil and Louise Mees Lauber. He married Lucille O. Theobald on February 14, 1946, in Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Diana (and Ron) Williams, Linda Gehrig, and Robin (and James) Harwood all of Princeville; one son, Randy Lauber of Princeville; 8 grandchildren, Ryan (and Sue) Williams, Niki Williams, Bret Williams, Darcy (and Gerry) Jacobus, Jeff (and Stacey) Gehrig, Lacey (and Garth) Yess, Derek Harwood, and Matt (and Jamie) Lauber; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Edmund Lauber of Princeville, Walter Lauber of Monica, and Fritz (and Marie) Lauber of Chillicothe; and three sisters, Helen Fessenden and Verna Stoecker both of Chillicothe, and Lucille (and Wayne) Unsicker of Peoria. His parents, one brother, and one grandson preceded him in death. Julius and Lucille farmed in the Monica area for many years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Peoria County Farm Bureau and the Monica United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2009, at First Presbyterian Church, Princeville. Revs. Fred Reiner and Marc Brown will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2009, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens, Peoria. Memorial contributions may be made to Akron/Princeville Ambulance Service or Monica United Methodist Church.
