Obituary of Nathan Allen Scheeler

Dunlap – Nathan Allen Scheeler, 19, of rural Dunlap, died at 3:50 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2009, the result of a car accident on Dickison Cemetery Road, south of Dunlap.

Nathan was born in Peoria on February 21, 1990, the son of Rex A. & Cindy A. Colgan Scheeler.  His parents survive, along with a sister, Samantha and brother, Jonathan, both at home.  Also surviving are his maternal grandparents, Bill & Carol Colgan, and many aunts, uncles, & cousins.  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Russ & Caryl Scheeler.

Nathan graduated from Dunlap High School in 2008.  He was attending Illinois Central College working toward a degree in Business.  He was currently working as a manager at the Red Carpet Car Wash on North Knoxville in Peoria.

He enjoyed working on & rebuilding his Mitsubishi Eclipse.  Nathan was a member of DSMPurity.com, a club dedicated to the car model, and Nathan’s car was featured in the club’s annual calendar.  He also enjoyed frisbee golf in Bradley Park, riding his 4-wheeler, and spending time with his many friends.  Nathan dearly loved his sister, Samantha, and his brother, Jonathan. And, he loved his dog Blue.

Nathan attended Northwoods Community Church, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2009.  His uncle, Scott Lindell, will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the church.  Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, Dunlap.

Memorial contributions may be made in honor of his cousin Kate Colgan, to Little People of America, Little Prairie Chapter, 1822 Baldwin Rd, Jacksonville, IL 62650.
