Obituary of Tyler W. Talley

Monica – Tyler W. Talley, 15, of Monica, died at 1:05 a.m. Sunday, January 4, 2009, at his residence.

Tyler was born April 25, 1993, in Peoria, the son of Jason W. and Debra A. Stewart Talley.

Surviving are his parents and his sister, Bridget A. Talley of Monica; maternal grandmother, Emma Stewart of East Peoria; paternal grandfather, Jerry Talley, Sr. of Williamsfield; paternal grandmother, Debra (and Kirk) Abernathy of Macomb; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.  His maternal grandfather, Thomas C. Stewart, preceded him in death.

Tyler was a sophomore at Princeville High School, where he played junior varsity and varsity football this past year as a defensive end and an offensive guard.  He was slated to start on the varsity squad next school year.  He enjoyed bodybuilding and lifting weights.  Tyler was a member of the Chess Team, Science Club, and he enjoyed art.  He took the hunter’s safety course and enjoyed hunting.  In the summer he detassled and was a crew leader with Team Corn & Soil, and worked as a lifeguard at the Princeville Aquatic Center, where he was credited for saving two swimmers.  He was a friend to all he met and was a good big brother.

A service celebrating Tyler’s life will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2009, at Princeville United Methodist Church.  Pastor Marc Brown and Pastor Lee Taylor of the Princeville Baptist Church will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the Princeville United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an education fund for his sister at Princeville Community Bank, 116 E. Main, Princeville, IL  61559.
