Obituary of Margery H. Woertz

Princeville – Margery H. Woertz, 91, of Pleasant Grove, UT, formerly of rural Princeville, died Saturday evening, May 16, 2009, at the home of her daughter in Pleasant Grove.

Margery was born June 23, 1917, in Kickapoo, the daughter of William and Myrtle Worsfold Challacombe.  She married Harold LaVerne Woertz on August 23, 1942, in Carthage, MO.  He preceded her in death on December 2, 1995, at their home in rural Princeville.  Also preceding her in death is one sister, Marian Poole, and one great-grandson, Peyton Fitch.

Surviving are two sons, LaVerne (Linda) Woertz of Washington, IL, and H. Keith (Patricia) Woertz of Dunlap; two daughters, Shirley (Steve) Dircks of Pleasant Grove, UT, with whom she had lived for the past 2 ½ years, and Kathy (Robert) Coultas of Peoria; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mildred Kulscar, of Allen Park, MI.

Margery and Harold farmed in rural Princeville for many years.

She was a 56-year member of the Princeville United Methodist Church.  In the past few years, she had become a member of the Church of the Latter Day Saints, attending in Peoria and in Pleasant Grove.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Friday, May 22, 2009, at Princeville United Methodist Church.  Rev. Rex Hendrix will officiate.  Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Princeville Cemetery.
