Obituary of Warren E. Dye
Brimfield – Warren E. Dye, 86, of Brimfield, formerly of Rio, IL, died at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 21, 2010 at his residence.
He was born August 23, 1923, in Gladstone, IL, the son of Guy and Virginia Morris Dye. He married Ruth E. Terry on November 10, 1942 in St. Louis, MO. She died September 4, 2005.
Surviving are son, David (Charlene) Dye of Brimfield; two daughters, Sharon (Richard) Ostino of Pleasant Valley, IA, Rita (Richard) Sawyer of Cameron; sister, Estalene Ferrillo of Fort Washington,MD; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Joe Dye, and a brother Donald Dye.
Warren was a farmer in the Rio and little York, IL, area and also worked for OMC in Galesburg. He raised and trained Quarter Horses and Persheron Draft Horses and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII. He enjoyed the time he spent at the Kalona Horse sales and also watching sports on TV, especially the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bulls.
A memorial service for Warren will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at the
Rio Presbyterian Church. Rev. Maura McGrath Nagle and Rev. Leonard Thomas will officiate. Private burial of cremains will be in Little York Cemetery.
