Obituary of Maxine S. Geiger

Dunlap—Maxine S. Geiger, 84, of Dunlap, formerly of Sterling, died at 2:45 a.m. on Friday, June 18, 2010, at Heritage Manor, Chillicothe.

Maxine was born May 24, 1926, in Lanark, Illinois, the daughter of Earl and Helen Sturtz. She married Lawrence Geiger on November 29, 1947, in Lanark, IL. He preceded her in death on September 25, 1995, in Chillicothe.

Surviving are one daughter, Julie (Pat) Bartolomucci of Dunlap; two sons, Larry (Judy) Geiger of Painted Post, NY, and Richard (Elaine) Geiger of Cooksville, TN; 8 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren

She was a school teacher in a one-room schoolhouse for several years prior to World War II.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 21, 2010, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home in Princeville. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 22, at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
