Obituary of Edmund L. Lauber

Monica– Edmund L. Lauber, 94, of Monica and Princeville, died at 3:15 a.m. Wednesday February 17, 2010, at Apostolic Christian Skylines, Peoria.

Ed was born August 8, 1915 in Alta, the son of Emil and Louise Mees Lauber.  He married Helen E. Buck on March 16, 1940 in Princeville. She preceded him in death on May 15, 2006.

Surviving are two sons, Gerald E. (and Sharon) of Princeville, Steven (and Marcia) of Monica; one daughter, Carole (and Dave) Bradshaw of Princeville; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; two brothers, Walter Lauber of Monica, and Francis “Fritz” (and Marie) Lauber of Chillicothe; three sisters, Helen Fessenden and Verna Stoecker both of Chillicothe, and Lucille (and Wayne) Unsicker of Peoria; one sister-in-law, Lucille Lauber of Princeville; and 19 nieces and nephews.  Two brothers, Emil and Julius Lauber, one granddaughter, Heather Lauber, two brother-in-laws, Bob Fessenden and John Stoecker, one sister-in-law, Millie Lauber, and one nephew, Bob Lauber preceded him in death.

Ed and his wife farmed in the Monica area for many years.  He was a member of the Peoria County Farm Bureau, Princeville Masonic Lodge #360 A.F & A.M., and on the Monica Elevator board for 36 years where he served as President of the Board for 13 years.  He also was a member of the Princeville Lions Club, Princeville High School Board for 8 years, Princeville Auditing Board and the Monica Grade School Board for many years and the Monica United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2010, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Rev. Tim Pearce will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.

Memorial contributions may be made to Monica United Methodist Church, Apostolic Christian Skylines, or OSF Hospice.
