Obituary of Nancy K. Shipley

Elmwood – Nancy K. Shipley, 65, of Elmwood, formerly of Princeville, died at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, May 6, 2010, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Nancy was born April 1, 1945, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Leroy and Thelma Farris Barnes.

Surviving are one daughter, Michele (Anthony) Chaney of Yates City, IL; two sons, Matt (Janet) Shipley of Gilson, IL, and Chris (Sheree) Shipley of Wyoming, IL; 6 grandchildren, Kane, Colton, Brandi, Katerina, Cody, & Cade; two sisters, Janice (Will) Chappel of Georgia and Rebecca (Harry) Wach of Iowa; and one brother, Steve (Paulette) Barnes of Colorado. Her parents preceded her in death.

Nancy first worked for L.R. Nelson for 23 years and then went to work as an accounting secretary for Illinois Machine & Tool Works in North Pekin.

Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Rev. Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be two hours prior to funeral service. Cremation will follow services and graveside burial of cremains will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Reinbeck Cemetery, Reinbeck, IA.
