Obituary of David C. Shockey

Monica – David C. Shockey, 58, of Monica, died at 12:18 p.m. Sunday, October 31, 2010, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
David was born April 22, 1952, in Peoria, the son of Kenneth and Isabel Heinz Shockey. He married his Queen, Brenda Eden on May 7, 1999, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother of Lehigh Acres, FL; two daughters, Kimberly (Todd) Wyatt of Covington, KY, and April Shockey of Bradford, IL; one son, Joel (Kelly) Barnewolt of Canton, IL; 4 grandchildren, Ashlee Goodwin, Brooke Goodwin, Jake Barnewolt, and Kennedy Wyatt; one brother, Herb (Jessika) Shockey of Brownsville, TN; one niece and nephew, Dikota & Deavon Shockey. His father and one brother, Tony Shockey preceded him in death.
David was a laborer, working out of Local #165. He also was a lifetime H.O.G. member. David loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was unique and always was game for new adventures. He was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and a friend of many. David will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Combs Cemetery, Edwards.
