Obituary of Nicholis L. Spellious
Dunlap - Nicholis L. Spellious, 63, of rural Dunlap, died at 6:55 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2010, at Heartland Health Care Center, Peoria.
He was born December 20, 1946, in Lacon, IL, the son of George and Mabel Jason Spellious. He first married Pamela Sue Edens on January 19, 1969. He then married Marlene Snyder on May 16, 2009, at St. Jude's Catholic Church, Peoria. She survives, along with one son, Robert (Kathy) Spellious of East Peoria; two daughters, Nicki (Craig) Raimondi of Lake in the Hills, IL, and Kimberly Spellious of East Peoria; five grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters, Dave Spellious of Toulon, Doris (Carroll) Pruitt of East Peoria, Genevieve (John) Majernik and Mary (Joe) Pizzolato, both of Streator, Carol (Gary) Fountain of Putnam, IL, and Stan and Rick Spellious, both of Chillicothe, IL. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pamela, two brothers and one sister.
He was a US Army veteran who served in Vietnam and received a Purple Heart. He worked in shipping and receiving at Caterpillar for 38 years, retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Spring Bay American Legion and attended St. Jude Catholic Church.
Cremation has been accorded. A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at St. Jude Catholic Church. Rev. Father Patrick Henehan will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:00 pm Tuesday, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church and also one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church or to the Spring Bay American Legion.
