Obituary of Dorothy A. Troutman

Princeville – Dorothy A. “Peggy” Troutman, 79, of Princeville, formerly of Monica, died at 6:02 p.m. Monday, July 26, 2010, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Peggy was born January 12, 1931, in Shelby County, Illinois, the daughter of Larkin and Lennie Givens Ramsey.  She married Dean Troutman on January 16, 1949, in Effingham, IL.  He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Wayne (Donna) Troutman of Crossville, TN, and Jeff (Audrey) Troutman of Princeville; two daughters, Linda J. Pinkston of Galesburg, and Barb (Wolfgang) Christ of Crossville, TN; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Sandra Kay (Howard) Wendte of Dietrich, IL; and one brother Kenneth (Pauline) Ramsey of Altamont, IL.  Her parents, two brothers, and two sisters preceded her in death.

Peggy operated the Monica Coffee Shop for 7 years, and then later worked at Snyder’s Cafe in Princeville.  She was a member of the Monica United Methodist Church.

There will be private family graveside service at Princeville Cemetery.  Rev. Tim Pearce will officiate.  There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to Monica United Methodist Church or Akron/Princeville Ambulance Service. 

Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville, is in charge of arrangements.
