Obituary of James E. Haynes
Princeville – James E. Haynes, 76, of Urbana, formerly of Princeville, died at 5:30 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2012, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois.
Jim was born April 28, 1935, in Murrayville, IL, the son of Eldon H. and Norlene Sooy Haynes. He married Marjorie Harrum on February 4, 1955, in Carlinville, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Jeff (Jean) Haynes of Danville, PA, and Peter (Elaine) Haynes of St. Louis, MO; two daughters, Sandy Melvin of Urbana, IL, and Carrie (Todd) Garlick of Great Lakes, IL; and grandchildren, Jessica, Mike, Scott, Anna, and Emily Haynes, Melissa Melvin, Chris (Courtney) Garlick, and Ben and Margaret Garlick. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Zachary Melvin, one brother, Jack Haynes, and one sister, Marion Ames.
Jim was a United States Army Veteran. He was principal at Princeville High School, retiring in 1979. After retiring he managed Arrowhead County Club in Edelstein. He was a longtime resident of the Peoria and Princeville areas. He also was a member of the Princeville United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Rev. Tracy Heilman will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 till time of the funeral service on Saturday. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, February 5, 2012, at Mayfield Memorial Park in Carlinville, IL.
