Obituary of Columbia R. Maddox

Princeville - Columbia R. Maddox, 92, of Princeville died at 6:24 p.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at her home.

Columbia was born January 15, 1920, in Kickapoo to Phillip and Otilia Bienemann Heinz and married in 1939.

Surviving are one son, John Maddox of Monica; two daughters, Joyce Murphy of Kickapoo and Janet Nauman of Princeville; one brother, Paul Heinz of Kickapoo; one sister, Teresa Cecilia Hines of Peoria Heights; six grandsons, Brian Maddox of Concordia, MO, Bob Murphy of rural Princeville, Brad Maddox of Monica, Bill Murphy of Brimfield, Juan Sanchez of Peoria and Hunter Nauman of Princeville; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, one sister, two brothers, and twin grandchildren.

Following her retirement from Alcoa Building Products, Columbia enjoyed baking literally thousands of cakes and helping with school and church projects for children.

She was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, Princeville, where a Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2012. Father Patrick Riordan will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday July 9, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Kickapoo.
