Obituary of Fonda J. Maddox
Monica – Fonda J. Maddox, 66, of Monica, died at 9:34 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2012, at Kindred Hospital Peoria.
Fonda was born June 19, 1946, in Peoria, the daughter of Everett Yale and Leatha Libby Camp. She married John R. Maddox on October 12, 1963, at the Monica United Methodist Church.
He survives.
Surviving is her mother, Leatha Camp of Williamsfield; two sons, Brian (Donna) Maddox of Concordia, MO, and Brad (Terri) Maddox of Monica; six grandchildren, Cody, Zachary, and Seth Maddox of Monica, Samantha Riley of Pekin, and Adam and Amelia Maddox of Concordia, MO; one sister, Cindy (Bill) Hale of Williamsfield; and her dog, Tateanna Valentina DeLuca Maddox. Her father, Yale Camp and one sister, Terri Ann Camp preceded her in death.
Fonda was a Princeville High School graduate. She worked at Princeville State Bank for three years and Laura State Bank for 27 years before retiring.
Fonda was a member of the Monica United Methodist Church, where she played the piano and organ starting at the age of 17. She continued to be the church organist for many years until her failing health. She also was a Sunday School Teacher and a trustee. Fonda loved tending the flowers and watching the birds in her yard. She enjoyed watching the Cubs or any other sporting event.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2012, at Monica United Methodist Church. Revs. Kristi Hopp and Randy Douglass will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral at the church. Burial will be in Princeville Cemetery.
