Obituary of Betty J. Werner
Peoria Heights – Betty J. Werner, 84, of Peoria Heights, died at 11:57 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Heartland Health Care Center of Peoria.
Betty was born July 22, 1927, the daughter of Walter E. and Anna Miller Wilson. She married Norman W. Werner on July 23, 1966, in Galesburg. He died March 10, 2012, in Peoria.
Surviving are two sons, Jay (Kathy) Werner of East Peoria and Mark Werner of Peoria Heights; four grandchildren, Ron Elam, Isaac Werner, Troy Werner, and Tracy Caldwell; two brothers, Charles (Norma Jean) Wilson of Hudson and Frank (Dorothy) Wilson of Wyoming; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Elam; one brother, Wilbur Wilson; and one sister, Lillian Nelson.
Betty was a pharmacist assistant, retiring in 1974. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Peoria, and the Moose Lodge in Peoria. She was a Lutheran Social Services volunteer.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Rev. Steven Tibbetts will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral service. Burial will be in Princeville Cemetery.
